On my seemingly weekly visit to Old Faithful (to the chagrin of Shirley), I finally found/committed to a replacement for my shoddy money clip (the reason I don’t like Stussy no more). Anyways, I had been perusing the likes of APC and such when I found this fine work of leather by Makr Carry Goods.

Two years ago, I was hunting for a good pair of work shoes that was casual enough for everyday wear. After trying a pair of clean black Hundreds sneakers (and I love them tons), I just wasn’t happy with the fit and feel, and happened upon a pair of Clae Ellingtons at Livestock (Toronto). If you haven’t tried their shoes, you really must; they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve had. While the clean form makes it a perfect work shoe, it’s not too snobby for everyday wear; “Clae fills the void between sneakers and shoes” (check out their info).

As you can see, the two years of wear is beginning to show, and so on my first weekend in Vancouver, I decided to hit up Gastown to find a suitable replacement before my first day of work.

not very many people have seen this little project yet, but the team of tae and i have been working hard to produce our class of 2011 graduation rings and packaging. this is the first project from our newly formed MAISON DE SYNECDOQUE collective, and you’ll be seeing more from us.

On my first weekend exploring Los Angeles, I did what I did in New York: hit up the shops! Though these areas are not quite easily as accessible as New York’s shopping districts (I miss the metro, and the ability to walk everywhere), I managed to hit up a few stores on Melrose/Fairfax.
